How to enable push notifications on mobile?Updated 3 hours ago

Why am I not receiving push notifications from Mamamia?
We’re sorry to hear that! If you’re not receiving push notifications, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue and make sure you're all set to stay in the loop.

Step 1: Check your device settings
iOS:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Scroll to find Mamamia.
  3. Ensure Allow Notifications is turned ON.
  4. Check that Alerts, Sounds, and Badges are enabled to your preference.

Android:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Mamamia.
  2. Tap Notifications.
  3. Make sure all toggles are ON, especially Push notifications.

Step 2: Check your in-app notification preferences

  1. Open Mamamia.
  2. Go to your Profile or Settings tab.
  3. Look for a section called Notifications or Preferences.
  4. Ensure push notifications are enabled (e.g., “Breaking News,” “New Stories,” etc.).

Step 3: Confirm you're logged in
Push notifications are tied to your account. Make sure:

  • You’re logged into the app with the correct account.
  • You haven’t logged out recently, which may pause push notifications.

Step 4: Make sure you’re connected
Notifications need a data or Wi-Fi connection. If your phone is in Airplane Mode, Do Not Disturb, or has battery saver on, this may delay or block notifications.

Step 5: Reinstall the app
Sometimes, uninstalling and reinstalling the app can refresh your push token (the unique identifier used by Iterable to send you notifications).

  1. Delete the app from your device.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Download the app again from the App Store or Google Play.
  4. Log back in and re-enable push notifications in your settings.

Still not working?
If you've tried all the above and still aren't receiving notifications:

  • Email our support team at support@mamamia.com.au
  • Let us know your device type, OS version, and the email you use in the app.
